Engineering & Design

Moving from concept to a manufactured product requires that design work be done first — and done correctly. However, when design and fabrication are handled by separate teams, that process gets complicated. Drawings go back and forth, and things get lost in translation between the designer and the fabricator. The result is delays and a finished product that required more effort than it should have.

Goldridge has a SolidWorks certified design team on every manufacturing project. Design is the first step in our process and the foundation on which everything else is built. So, whether you arrive with a fully developed concept, a rough idea, or existing drawings that need refining for manufacturability, our design team works through the details before fabrication begins.

Page Summary
  • Goldridge has a SolidWorks-certified design team on staff throughout every manufacturing project.
  • Design team works from supplied drawings or develops fabrication documentation from your concept.
  • All designs are reviewed and approved before fabrication begins on the shop floor.
  • Design team builds for manufacturability. Working directly with the fabrication floor daily.

Where We Can Help

You have a concept, but no drawings

Our design team works with you to develop fabrication drawings from your idea. We work through the specifications and produce production-ready documentation so the path from concept to finished product is a straight line.

You have existing drawings

If you're coming in with prints or existing documentation, our team reviews them for manufacturability and flags anything that needs to be resolved before production begins. We can catch problems at the design stage rather than the fabrication stage.

You need a component documented

For OEM and custom manufacturing projects where an existing component needs to be replicated or adapted, our design team can develop fabrication drawings from the physical part or reference specifications to produce the documentation needed to manufacture it accurately and consistently.

Design That's Built for Manufacturability

A design that looks right on screen isn't always a design that can be built efficiently. Our design team works with the fabrication floor every day. They understand what the cutting equipment, the press brake, and the welding team can do, and they design accordingly.

There are fewer surprises once fabrication starts and a cleaner process from the first drawing through to delivery.

Part of Every Project at Goldridge

Design is incorporated into every structural steel, OEM manufacturing, agricultural equipment, precast batch plant facilities, oil and gas equipment, and custom fabrication project. When design and fabrication are executed in the same building, the process is faster, the communication is cleaner, and the finished product reflects what was actually specified.
